What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese word meaning Universal (Spiritual) Life Force. It has the same basic meaning as the Chinese “chi” and the Sanskrit “prana”. It is an ancient form of “hands-on” healing and was re-discovered in the 19th century by Dr. Mikao Usui. It is spiritual in concept, not religious, and therefore is not attached to any dogma and can be accepted by any one of any faith. It can be taught to anybody, even children. It is normally applied by the hands indirectly and directly.

Reiki is used to treat both self and others, and is a powerful aid to personal growth.

It works at and on all levels — Spiritual, Emotional, Mental and Physical. The healing energy is drawn not from, but through the “healer’s” body ensuring that the healer’s own energy is not depleted, but is in fact enhanced and re-balanced from the energies flowing through. It can also be used on plants, animals — in fact, anything that is growing.

How is it Practised?

The recipient lies down fully clothed, then relaxes with their eyes closed. The Reiki practitioner gently channels the life force energy through their hands onto the recipient’s hands, body, legs and feet.

REIKI 2 Course

Investment: £145 includes certificate fees, fully comprehensive manual

Course entry requirement:

Reiki 1 qualified. Suitable for those wishing to practise on family and friends, also professionally. Highly recommended for practitioners who wish to enhance their own healing

This course is about taking Reiki to the next step. Not all who take the Reiki 2nd degree wish to become a practitioner or to work for Health. However all courses should enable you to set up in private practice if you so wish and my experience has indicated that students who do aspire to a career within a Health setting frequently already have the skills we discussed above, either through their work background or from taking other courses. So you will need to consider your individual circumstances when choosing your Reiki 2 course and its duration and if you do wish to work in a Health setting then decide what if any other skills you will need.

This course is for those who:Have completed Reiki

  • Have used Reiki on themselves and others for a length of time
  • Wish to renew and deepen their commitment to Reiki
  • Wish to receive and learn how to use some of the symbols revealed to Dr Usui
  • Learn how to send distant healing
  • May wish to practise professionally and charge a fee

Reiki Level 3 course

Investment: £220 includes certificate fees, fully comprehensive manual

Master Practitioner (Reiki Third Degree) Course – At this level you receive the powerful master attunement that lifts the system energetically to even greater heights and inner depths. This course introduces the master symbol and shows you how to use it for healing and transformation. You learn many techniques on using the knowledge to help others but primarily this level focuses on self-mastery.

Practise at Second Degree level helps to prepare you for Master Practitioner. The master level energy has a tendency to bring up repressed issues that still need dealing with so it is helpful to get as much practise as you can before taking Master Practitioner.

Reiki Master Teacher Level 4 Course

Investment: £220 includes certificate fees and fully comprehensive manual

Master Teacher (Reiki Fourth Degree) Course – This course enables you learn how to give attunements to others using the master symbols and self-mastery this process.

It is held over 2 days with the first day given to learning how to give attunements and teach Reiki levels.

Between the first day and the second day you are to study the handbook that you will be given and practise. If you have not already the gain following skills and knowledge, then it is strongly advised to obtain further training in study basic first aid, basic counselling skills, subtle energies and anatomy & physiology.

It may take a while to reach time when the student is ready to come back for second day. On this day you will practise giving attunements and receive your Reiki Master Teacher certificate. Support, if required is given throughout this period.
